Chris Gregson studied at the New York Studio and Forum of Stage Design. He worked as a stage artist at the Metropolitan Opera and other theaters throughout New York City. In 1995, Gregson began creating abstract paintings and exhibited them throughout the United States and in Italy and France. He moved to Virginia and curated exhibitions and was a guest critic and lecturer at universities and conferences. For ten years, he collected and organized exhibits of southern self taught artists. In 2005, he founded “Constructs,” a group of abstract painters. In 2010 he spent his time between studios in Fredericksburg and Heathsville, Virginia. Currently, he splits his time between New York and Virginia with travel to Europe. He was an artist resident at the Cite Internationale des Arts, Paris, France in 2022 and 2023. His paintings are in the corporate collections of Capital One, Kaiser Permanente, Markel Corporation, Sun Trust Bank, the permanent collections at the American Embassy in Guinea, Africa, Longwood University in Farmville, Taubman Museum in Roanoke, Virginia, and in other prestigious private contemporary art collections.
